It looks like the Associated Press has been on a good path and they continue to do so after being the first major media outlet to do away with using the term “illegal.”   They treat the Spanish-speaking Americans equally to those who can only speak English, and their creative and critical thinking moves Americans forward.

The English ObamaCare website needed to be tweaked, and the Obama Administration has been  doing all that it can to make those tweaks. For instance, according to Reuters:

“… The U.S. government will part ways next month with contractor CGI Federal over the troubled Obamacare enrollment website, HealthCare.gov, which failed to work when it launched in October for millions of Americans shopping for insurance, the company said on Friday.  HealthCare.gov struggled with error messages and slow speeds for weeks after its October 1 launch, creating a political crisis …”

We are glad to hear CGI is getting fired.  I believe CGI  failed to perform quality support to our government, and they ought to be fired.  This was a good call by the Obama administration.  We are glad that criticism can serve as a type of fire to burn out any impurities that ought to be rid of.

That said, Chicanos and Mexican-Americans ought to continue to be critical thinkers, too,  when the spotlight is pointed at the Spanish ObamaCare site because it concerns those of us who were born in the United States or are American citizens who speak Spanish.  As you may already know, Mexican Americans make up almost 70% of the “Hispanic / Latino” population pie and it burns me to no end when “Latino” pundits try to be the voice of Chicano / Mexican Americans.

The Associated Press was the first one to point out concerns with regard to the Spanish ObamaCare site and as a result of those concerns, the White House is making the site better.  We are no different than the Anglos.  We want to work things for the better.  We want to make things work and we should continue to strive for that — for the American tax payers.

As for those who are upset about the spotlight being shone on some areas that needed to be enhanced on the Spanish ObamaCare site   — shame on you.  Changes have already been made for the better thanks to critical thinking skills and those who write on behalf of  our community.  Spanish and English-run government websites will always have room for improvement.  It is our responsibility as American tax payers to improve things for our Nation.

We applaud the AP for pointing out some problems that have already been fixed and are being fixed by the White House.
